Books I'm Reading this May

Another month has passed and I'm done listing my April Favorites. Time flies really fast indeed. Before I go on with my list I would just like to extend my huge "thank you" for making IzzaGlino's views higher for the month of April. I am so happy of the daily views that this humble  blog received last month and I will be very happy in you'll continue your support. As always I have the other blog, SavingsPinay if you are looking for financial posts.

Books I've Done Reading Last Month

Unfortunately, I only finished two out of the four books I've set to finish last month. But I am very happy that I finished two of the BEST books I've ever read in my entire life. Mario Puzo's The Godfather and Kathryn Stockett's The Help were two books that you'll surely need to include in your must-reads.

The Godfather- Reading this book makes you go crazy (in a good way). Every page will just blow your mind. It's the story of the Mafia leader, Don Vito Carleone and his family. They were considered as the leaders of the Sicilian Families because of the timeless political influence and the strategic intelligence of The Godfather himself, Don Carleone. I encourage you to read this book and also watch the movie and I bet the story will be in your heart forever.

The Help- Right after finishing the book I downloaded the movie and watched it. I love the interpretation and the actress that played the role of Aibeleen was so great. However, reading the book is as always the best option. The book offers far more substance to each character than the movie so if you've watched the movie I urge you to read the book too. It is a readable book that you'll even finish in one sitting. It got three story-tellers namely Aibeleen, Minny and Ms. Skeeter and each character gives life to a story that will make you smile and cry at the same time.

Some Important Notes and Realizations
  • The faster/earlier you finish the book the better. Try not to miss a day without reading and dedicate an hour or two to finish any number of pages/chapters that you can finish.
  • Make reading a goal and more than just a fun activity. I believe the main reason why I failed on reading four books last month is because I didn't count book reading as a goal but just something that I will do if I have spare time. This month I want to change this and put book reading in my daily as well as monthly goals.
Here are the books I'm Reading for May

1. Last Month's Leftover- The Sicilian by Mario Puzo and The Tourist by Open Steinhauer.

These two books alone may took me two weeks to finish as they are really long and the letters were printed too little but I am positive to really finish the books as soon as possible.

2. Don't Sweat the Small Stuff by Richard Carlson. PH.D.

I just saw this book from a good friend's wall post and I knew I needed to buy one. Luckily I saw it on Book Sale so I immediately bought it. This isn't a novel but more of a collection of learning. The list includes 100 Lessons and priceless lessons, quotes and notes.  I feel no pressure reading this book and I will be very happy finishing the book in just one sitting.

3. Jumpstart Your Motivation, 10 Jolts To Get Motivated and Stay Motivated by Shawn Doyle

This is another self-help book that I found in Book Sale. It has powerful lessons on motivation and achieving your goals plus a worksheet. I am excited to read this book and answer the questions at the end of each chapter.

4. Life of Pi by Yann Martel

This is the newest addition to my collection of books that were turned into movie. I saw the movie when it was released in the Philippines so I have high expectation for the book.
