Nichido Ultra Stay Matte Liquid Lip Color Swatch + Review

By this time you all know my not so secret love affair with liquid lipsticks. I definitely enjoy a good color on my lips and the fact that it is matte and won’t budge are mostly the main reasons I’m obsessed.

It all started with James Cooper Jazzy Collections’ Lustrous Liquid Lipstick in Ice Princess, the dupe for Kylie’s Lip Kit in Candy K. That lipstick turned me into a massive collector from local liquid lipsticks I adore to this new found love --- Nichido Ultra Stay Matte Liquid Lip Color!

Have you seen this?

I was on my usual window shopping when I stumble upon Nichido Ultra Stay Matte Liquid Lip Color line. I swatched all colors and decided to buy Chic Café because it really looks promising for my skin tone. The usual nudish, mauvish brown that will make your lips look fuller.

PACKAGING

The packaging of Nichido Ultra Stay Liquid Lip Color is so much alike with NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream only thicker and wider.

I love the transparent plastic tube packaging because you can clearly see the color in one look. The doe foot applicator is also really nice and stable. It is enough to create a precise application.

Also Nichido Ultra Stay Liquid Lip Color have this grip or control when you remove the applicator to the tube so it isn’t as messy unlike some local liquid lipstick I own.

FORMULA

Since I’ve been buying a lot of local liquid lipsticks, I assume the formula and texture of the Nichido Ultra Stay Liquid Lipstick is the same. But in my experience it wasn’t.

It has more of a mousse texture than creamy which makes it smoother and better when applied on bare lips.

The lip color when applied is the same when swatched and when you look at it based in the packaging. It also doesn’t have any pungent smell in it.

SHADE SELECTION

As you may notice the newest collection from Nichido are all in the nude, everyday wear shades.

Left to Right | Simply Nude, Chic Cafe, Dirty Talk, Chill Pill,
Fast Play, Bespoke and O Sop Spice

  • Simply Nude reminds me so much of Wet N’ Wild’s Megalast Lipstick in Sucre Rose or Ever Bilena Matte in Skin. It is the trickiest shade to wear for me because it has a tendency to make you look sick and pale. This would work best for those who have lighter skin tone.

  • Dirty Talk and Chill Pill looks identical with each other. These shades are universally flattering too and I was so close in buying Dirty Talk only I have extra money to spare, haha. Both shades are in the deep pinky nude color that are perfect for first dates or for casual coffee dates if you want to make an impression!

  • Bespoke, just like its name gives so much personality when worn. I do love this color so much.

  • O So Spice is the darkest, deepest plum brown in the collection. Think of it as the liquid lipstick version of Maybelline Creamy Matte in Burgundy Blush. This will make your teeth look whiter, can be worn of date nights and those occasion when you want some extra attention.

Now that I’ve described (in the best of my capability) all the colors in this collection, my top three recommendations to you would be Chic Café, Dirty Talk and probably Fast Play. If you have extra money buy O So Spice for color!

If these lippies are priced same as the Ever Bilena Liquid Lipsticks, I will probably buy two at once, but because it costs P 225 each I only bought one as a trial.

MY EXPERIENCE

The Nichido Ultra Stay Matte Liquid Lip Color in Chic Café is true to its name as an ultra-stay lip product. It doesn’t claim that it would stay in the next one to three hours but based on my experience it is indeed long lasting.

Although it is transfer-proof and kiss-proof at the same time, there is still a need to reapply the product. I actually don’t mind this because I am someone who do touch-ups naman of my lip color from time to time.

Is it worth the buy?

This is my very first lip product from Nichido and although the price is higher compared to its competitors, I can pretty much say that the quality is superb. Very light-weight feeling, not sticky or tacky on the lips and dries fast without making the lips chapped.

OVERALL

If you are looking for a new addition in your liquid lipstick collection from local makeup brands then you might want to check out Nichido’s Ultra Stay Matte Liquid Lip Color. The line has a perfect match of nude for any skin color there is. Each costs P 225 which is not bad for its quality btw. Another great product to try aside from the Nichido Liquid Lipsticks is their final powder which is said to be a dupe of the Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Powder.
