City Colors Be Matte Lipstick in Kelly and Spice Review

Hi everyone! I'm back with a new lipstick review. In April 2016 I started to rebuild my lipstick collection and I'm happy to report that it's doing fine. I'll update my collection post before 2016 ends and these lipsticks that I'll be reviewing today for you will be part of it. If you are searching for good quality matte lipstick for price lower than Maybelline then the City Color Be Matte Lipstick is the answer. Let's begin.

Product Information

City Color's Be Matte Lipstick is every girl's must have secret! Its rich formula is highly pigmented to create the perfect matte shades. Every bullet is enhanced with Vitamin E to nourish the lips and provide long lasting color. The collection is available in 36 stunning shades and claim to never make your lips feel dry and maintain the perfect shade throughout the day. The shades I have are Kelly [M36] and Spice [25]

Price

179pesos only. Available on Trinoma Landmark or Pure Beauty Glorietta 4. I bought City Color's Be Matte Lipstick in Kelly inside Trinoma Landmark and I found City Color's Be Matte Lipstick in Spice at Pure Beauty. It was only when I was at home that I realized that they have different packaging. No idea why.

My Experience

City Color Cosmetics is one of my best finds for 2016. The brand have a ton of amazing products for a fraction of the price. I can even compare their price range to local brands like Ever Bilena, Nichido or Fashion 21. Before October ended I featured a detailed review on their Be Matte Blush in Sunset Safari which I honestly adore. Now I have two lipsticks from their Be Matte Lipsticks collection and I can't be anymore happy.

Left: Be Matte Spice | Right: Be Matte Kelly
Be Matte Kelly is a mix of red and mauve. It's a very natural and wearable pop of color on the lips. It has a deeper undertone so it compliments morena skin tone and can also satisfy those with brighter complexion.

Be Matte Spice is a very brown nude color. It is perfect for edgy look and when you want a hint of mystery. This along with  James Cooper Jazzy Collection in Ice Princess will give you Kylie-lips in an instant. Though the James Cooper one is a greyish brown instead of a nudish brown.

There's nothing I don't love about the way City Colors Be Matte Lipstick in Kelly and Spice perform. I love the pigmentation. One swipe is enough to give you the rich color your deserve. You can also layer the lip color anytime because it is non-drying at all!!! City Color Be Matte Spice is much more solid on the lips while Be Matte Kelly might need another coat to bring it's beautiful stain.

I love how creamy it is when applied. I don't have a hard time blending the color on my lips. Sometimes I even use my finger to pat the color and make it last longer. I suggest using a good lip balm to prep your lips. For the smell both lipsticks have a sweet scent on it especially City Color Be Matte in Kelly. No worries because the smell won't bother you that much.

What I Love About the Product?
  • Affordable
  • Smooth and easy to apply
  • Very pigmented
  • Lasts long
  • Matte Finish
  • A lot of colors to choose from
  • Not drying on the lips
  • Can be reapplied multiple times
What I Don't Love?
  • Available online but mostly overpriced. Both stores I recommend sell these lippies in the cheapest price so I suggest visit either Trinoma Landmark City Color Cosmetics kiosk or Pure Beauty in Glorietta 4.
Overall

City Colors Be Matte Lipstick in Kelly and Spice are my current go to lipsticks. Both lip color suits me well and they have a special place in my collection. I plan on buying new shade before 2016 ends and I'm really eyeing on the darker plum colors.
