Goodbye July, Hello August 2018

It's time to recap what happened for the month of July with side stories here and there plus things to look forward to in the coming month.

July 2018 has been nothing but an amazing month for me. The first two weeks was filled with celebration from my mom and sister’s birthday to the Victory Weekend of my participant, Rizza. I also started a small group in the office, which is an awesome answered prayer!

AND A WHOLE LOT MORE so let’s begin.

FAMI Annual Shareholders’ Meeting 2018

Just like last year, I also participated in this year's FAMI Annual Shareholders’ Meeting. To those who are new, I am currently employed at First Metro Asset Management Inc. (FAMI). It is a yearly event where investors are invited to hear out the updates about the funds they invested and the plans for next year.

Mama and Ate Abi’s Birthday Celebration

Here’s a fact!

In the family we have three pairs that celebrate their birthdays on the same month.

Me and my youngest sister were born on the same month of November. My Kuya and his son a.k.a. my favorite pamangkin, Lyron celebrates the same birth day, March 30. Lastly, my Ate Abi goes July 3 while my Mama is July 6.

With that we have plenty of double celebrations all year which is matipid.

For Mama and Ate Abi we celebrated at Max’s Restaurant in SM MOA. We had a much needed feast as a family and then strolled in the seaside after the dinner.

Victory Weekend

Last July 13 and 14, I was at EN Building Fort for the Victory Weekend.

Victory Weekend is a two day retreat  wherein participants establish strong spiritual foundation and  deepen their relationship with God. It happens after the One2One sessions and includes water baptism.

It was a monumental event for my spiritual life because this time I came as a leader and not a participant. I am so thankful to god for allowing me to lead Rizza, my first ever Victory Weekend  participant.

Oh  what  a great weekend  it has been.

Leading a Small Group In the Office

This is another answered prayer for me. Since last year, I’ve been praying to start a small group in our office.

It took nine months for God to answer and I am grateful I waited. To be in one room with men and women who are eager to learn and build a lasting relationship with the Lord is something I am amazed to witness.

Shopping for Books

I went to a crazy book buying in the month of July. I can’t stop myself from buying books!!!

The first two books I bought were Jon Krakauer’s Into Thin Air and John Green's Looking for Alaska. Then I got a copy of Into The Water by Paula Hawkins, same author of The Girl on the Train which I have already read and even reviewed.

Lastly I bought three dystopian novels I can’t wait to read - Ready Player One by Ernest Cline, 1984 by George Orwell and Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury.

This was the one and only month so far that I got obsessed in buying books and I am not even complaining.

Meeting with Coffee Monday Barkada

Finally after months the Coffee Monday Barkada is almost complete. I went with a ramen night with the best men ever!!! I just enjoy whenever I bond with the Coffee Monday Barkada because they make me laugh soooo much. I am also glad because we get to share life updates with each other.

Meeting Lhean and Jevi from High School

Before July ended I met up with my friends from high school, Lhean and Jevi. We first attended a service in Victory Fort then had dinner at Uptown Mall.

We intentionally met to talk about how we can evangelize to our other classmates since all of us are active in the church community. Lhean goes to Victory Fort, Jevi is from Victory Alabang and I from Victory Makati.

It was amazing hearing out their testimonies and seeing how God has been working in their life throughout our current season.

Really excited on how our start up ministry will grow in the future.

Things I’m Looking Forward for August

Celebrating Nica’s Birthday

My best friend is an August baby and I can’t wait for our date together to happen. Our plan is to spend an afternoon in Fully Booked Serendra, have coffee and churros and talk about love and life. Super excited.

Here are some adventures me and Nica had in the past: 2D 1N in Tagaytay, 4D  3N in Seoul and our yearly Noel Bazaar Experience.

Celebrating Ate Malen’s Birthday

My eldest sister will turn a year older once again and as usual we will celebrate as a family. We still have no concrete plans yet but still looking forward as to what will happen.

That's it for this month's recap.
