Goodbye April, Hello May 2021

It's time to recap what happened for the month of April 2021 with side stories here and there plus things to look forward to in the coming months.

April was a month filled with changes. First off, I’m finally learning to live alone after 27 years. More story about this below. I also spent the whole month of April working from home, a relief because of the current surge in the COVID-19.

Let’s begin.

Living Alone Diaries

Last April 10, my parents and youngest sister moved to our province at Eastern Samar for good.

We planned the move as a family in August 2020, and after months of delay due to changes in the quarantine measures it finally happened.

For the last four weeks I’ve been learning to live alone. I’ve done my first grocery and my first few errands in the house. It was such an experience and I’m taking each and every day of this new season. I know God will be way, way ahead of me no matter what. I’ll trust His provision over this new chapter.

Our Zoom Dates now 😭

Zoom Date with Nica

Another month spent in the evening chatting with Nica and I am hoping it’ll be a monthly date for us moving forward.

YouTube Comeback

Something that also happened in April was I made a comeback in YouTube. I finally uploaded a new YouTube video after two long years! For my comeback upload I did a Plan with Me for May 2021, an episode where I shared how I prepare for a new month.

30 Days of Journaling

For April, I decided to take part in a new 30 days challenge and it’s about journaling. For the next 30 days, since April 1 I shared journaling prompts on Instagram which I also answered as part of my morning pages.

Journaling has helped me in more ways than one. It helped me clear my thoughts, it calmed me on my anxious days, and made me closer to myself.

Now that there’s just too much happening around us it’s such an amazing feeling to write down one’s thoughts at the end of the day or first thing in the morning.

There’s really no right way when it comes to journaling. You can do it as freestyle as you can or use any journaling prompts you can find. By regularly jotting down your thoughts you will gain insights on your moods, your behavior and your overall growth as a person.

You can find my past 30 Day Devo Challenge and my current 30 Day Journaling Challenge on my Instagram’s IG Story Highlight for reference.

Personal Growth Update

Lastly, I’m happy to share updates on my personal growth or how I’ve been improving my everyday habits and routines. Because of the past challenges I did both my devo and my morning pages were back on track.

I also finished Looking for Alaska by John Greene and started reading The Widow of Wall Street by Randy Susan Meyers. I need to do a lot of catching up for my 2021 reading challenge.

Lastly, I did a total of 14 workouts for the month of April with an average of 15 minutes per workout.

April 2021 Favorites

Beauty - For the month of April, I’ve been enjoying Neutrogena Deep Clean Foam Cleanser.

I feel like I needed to go back with the foam cleanser that gives a squeaky clean feeling. I looked for the COSRX Salicylic Acid Daily Gentle Cleanser at Watsons but they don’t carry it in the store. As I was browsing from cleanser to cleanser I realized I haven’t actually tried Neutrogena as a brand. I was surprised that their 100g cleanser is only priced at Php 225 so I gave in and bought one.

The Neutrogena Deep Clean Foam Cleanser is pure glycerin based foam cleanser which is said to remove 99.9% of dirt and impurities. It is non-comedogenic, oil-free, and dermatologist-tested.

Lastly, it promises to give back a nourished glow to skin.

Movie or Show - For April 2021, I spent a lot of time rewatching How I Met Your Mother on Netflix. This is my second time watching the show and I really love it.

Song - For April, I actually have no song or song playlist of choice. What I’ve been listening to for the month are mainly podcasts. I love Team Payaman Insider and The Morning Rush.

Looking Forward Next Month

As announced to us, May is another month I will be spending working from home. I am looking forward to the money I will save for May.

For May, I’ve been meaning to do most of my blogging tasks at least two weeks in advance. The main goal is to make sure that before I get back to work at the site, I have the whole month of my May calendar done and scheduled.

My prayer, as always, is for the month of May to be another productive month. What would make the month a success if I’m able to do all my blog tasks in advance.

That’s it for May 2021.
