Current Morning Skincare Routine

Today I thought of sharing my current morning skincare routine. I’ve been meaning to do this since the last time I blogged about my skincare routine was 2017. I am using completely different products from before and most I adopted from the 10-step Korean skincare regimen.

My current morning skincare routine consists of six steps only. Since I work in the morning, I see to it that my routine is just quick and simple. I just make sure I follow the basics - cleanse, tone and moisturize plus sunscreen!

Also, I have to be honest that I sometimes skip products because of time pressure. Haha.

Without further ado, let’s begin

Step 1. Cleanse

Cosrx Salicylic Acid Daily Gentle Cleanser

This COSRX Salicylic Acid Daily Gentle Cleanser quickly became my holy grail since getting it from my Althea freebies. I use to have super oily face but since implementing this in my morning skincare, I notice the changes in my skin profile. I quickly moved to a less oily state especially on my t-zone. The salicylic acid also help manage acne breakouts, which I have (sadly). This cleanser has  exfoliants but still gentle enough to be used daily on every morning skincare routine.

Miniso Silicone Facial Cleanser

I started using the Miniso Silicone Facial Cleanser and it quickly became a very important part of my skincare routine. It’s a gentle scrub that makes any facial cleanser I use more effective as it goes deep in the pores. Although this device doesn’t have a controller for the vibration, it’s okay. I find the vibration to be just right for someone like me who loves a squeaky clean feeling.

What I enjoy most about using the Miniso Silicone Facial Cleanser is the type of bubble foam it gives after use. As soon as I have the right amount of bubbles on my face, I stop the cleanser and use my bare hands instead to have one final touch before washing off.

If you are still looking for a cleansing device that does not cost too much, I highly recommend this.

Step 2. Prep and Tone

Son & Park Cleansing Beauty Water

Ever since reading the hype on this Korean skincare product, I knew I wanted to get it. This Son & Park Cleansing Beauty Water is said to make miracles on the skin and using it for more than two months now, I can attest to its wonders. When I use this before toner, I really feel like my face is squeaky clean. This product is a good “prep” before all the other face products. It is really mild on the face and doesn’t sting.

This product is so hydrating which is a good compliment to using the COSRX Salicylic Acid Daily Cleanser.

Collagen by Watsons

For so long I’ve wanted to try this Collagen by Watsons. It is said to be a power toner and was always sold out. Finally, the hype has subsided and I was able to get one after a stroll in the mall.

Collagen by Watsons is part of the moisturizing skincare range of Watsons. It is infused with collagen peptide which increases the suppleness of the skin. It also has hydrolysed collagen for regeneration and last but not the least, Atelocollagen to minimize wrinkles and fine lines.

The formula is totally different from any other toners I’ve tried. It is not water-like but more of a slimy texture that gets absorbed real fast. I pat this on my face day and night and it definitely seals the moisture. I use this not really as a toner but more an essence. I really like this product.

Step 3. Moisturizer

Nature Republic 99% Aloe Vera Gel

I guess I’ve shared so much about this moisturizer here on the blog but I really love it. I forgot how many tubs I’ve emptied because I really enjoy its  effect and how economical it is.

Here’s a complete review about Aloe Vera Gel.

I also mentioned the product in these posts:

Step 4. Eye cream

Elizavecca Gold CF-Nest White Bomb Eye Cream

I’ve been using this eye cream ever since I got it too from the Althea Haul. I’ve always had puffy and dark under eye circles, so I’m in constant look for the best eye cream in the market.

The Elizaveca Gold CF-Nest White Bomb Eye Cream is definitely handy. Because it comes in a squeezy I enjoy how it keeps my eye are hydrated. It also does not cause any irritation and helps lessen the darkness on my undereyes.

Here’s a great post all about the importance of eye care and the best eye cream there is in the market - LINK.

Step 5. Sunscreen

Althea Petal Velvet Sunaway SPF 50 PA++

Last part of my morning skincare routine is sunscreen. At first, I didn’t pay much attention to sunscreen. I felt like it's just for vanity and I can skip it on my morning skincare routine.

But studies even bloggers I adore share how important sunscreen is especially when you are still young. It is one of the most effective ways you can prevent aging and unwanted sunspots. If you  are into skincare and diligently following the steps 1-4 but not sunscreen, then what for?

Sunscreen is like what binds everything together.

I remember receiving this in my Althea Angels Welcome Gift and I never really thought I will love this product. Nowadays, I can’t leave the house without putting this product first on my face. It doesn’t give any white cast, effective and easily absorbed by the face as well. I enjoy using this before putting any makeup.

That’s it for my current morning skincare routine.
