It's time to recap what happened for the month of February 2019 with side stories here and there plus things to look forward to in the coming month.
February 2019 was such a busy month. Isn’t it obvious by the amount of posts I was able to produce this month compared to January? A breakthrough happened in my work life and I had to spend a lot of time adjusting with the new role. Thankfully, I was still able to read and finish two books before the transition began. This made me one book ahead of my 2019 reading challenge. I also went to my first ever Big Bad Wolf Books fair with my eldest sister and attended my second Victory Weekend as a leader.
So much stories to share so let’s begin.

Career Breakthrough
In the middle of February I received a breakthrough at work. I am now a Digital Marketing Associate at one of the leading asset management firm in the country. This means I get to apply everything I do as a blogger - making social media posts, maintaining website, creating graphics and so on as my day job. Isn’t it amazing?
What’s more surprising is that it was the same job I applied for two years ago but I didn’t get it because the HR Associate back then thought my work experience is more fitting to a Technical Writer. I waited and prayed silently for the opportunity to open up for the said role but after a year I thought it was not really for me.
God surprised me after two long years.
Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours - Mark 11:24
Prayer do works. I can tell you I am now at my happiest career-wise. I remember the famous saying “Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life,” that is where I am at the moment. I am so enjoying every single day of my new role as Digital Marketing Associate. I wake up feeling excited that I will get back to my desk and work. Weird, right? But it’s true.
Victory Weekend
Last February 15 and 16, I attended my second Victory Weekend as a leader.
Victory Weekend is a two day retreat wherein participants establish strong spiritual foundation and deepen their relationship with God. It happens after the One2One sessions and includes water baptism.
It was August last year when I first came in Victory Weekend not as participant but a leader. This time I have Zharen with me. I am so excited to what God has in store in Zharen’s life.

Leading a Victory Group
Another spiritual breakthrough that happened this February 2019 is that my leader Ms. Mau, finally gave me the authority to lead our Victory Group. She will be transferring to Sunday service which means I will be left to lead our Wednesday Victory Group moving forward. The last time I led a Victory Group was college, on my first year of getting baptized. So it’s very exciting for me to do it again and be part of others’ spiritual journey.
Big Bad Wolf Books 2019
It was my first time to attend the Big Bad Wolf Books fair. Big Bad Wolf Books is a Malaysian book fair frequently held in Southeast Asia nations - Thailand, Myanmar, Indonesia, Sri Lanka and the Philippines. The book fair sells all kind of books genres from fiction, non-fiction, children's literature to young adult. It’s open for 24 hours and guaranteed discounted books for 60%-90%.

Movie Date with Nica and Cata
Finally #TheTrio meets again.
Last February 23, I went on a movie date with Nica and Cata whom I’ve been friends for years. We watched Alone Together starring Enrique Gil and Liza Soberano. After that we ate and talk at Tacobell. Again it’s so nice to have friends whom you can be with and laugh with without any restrictions. We don’t see each other that often but when we do it’s as if we didn’t parted at all.
February 2019 Favorites
Beauty - I’ve been using Evian Facial Spray so much for the month of February. I discovered another use for it which is to spray after my morning and evening skincare routine. Yep! It serves like a final touch to seal all the products I put in my face. I noticed how “banat” my face gets after doing this.
Movie or Show - As mentioned earlier I watched the movie Alone Together and I can’t help but include it as a favorite movie watched for February 2019. I love how the story provided a real-life scenario that could happen to anyone. Antoinette Jadaone did it again same as That Thing Called Tadhana and Never Not Love You. The story line and the script just feels so real-life you can’t help but relate with the characters.
I am also currently binge-watching Friends on Netflix. I am now on my last three episodes of Season 2. It really is the funniest and most relatable TV show ever.
Song - I have a last song syndrome to Janine Teñoso’s 241 cover, Pentatonix’s The Sound of Silence cover and Toto’s Africa. Those were on repeat for me in the month of February.
Looking Forward Next Month
Captain Marvel
Instead of a summer outing at work we will be watching Captain Marvel for free. It’s a block screening by the way complete with popcorn and drinks. I enjoy any Marvel movie and to watch for it free is something I surely won’t miss.
Mt. Manalmon and Mt. Gola Twin Dayhike
Finally a hike will happen in March. My highschool friends invited me for a twin dayhike at Mt. Manalmon and Mt. Gola and I am oh so excited to go. It’s my first hike since 2017!
