Goodbye February, Hello March 2020

It's time to recap what happened for the month of February 2020 with side stories here and there plus things to look forward to in the coming months.

February flew by too quickly. Even though it has an extra day because it is Leap Year, it still felt like the month flew by fast.

The month was the busiest as well for me especially with the number of church activities that took place in February. I’m excited to cover each in this post. Let’s begin.

Victory Weekend

Last February 7 and 8, I attended my third Victory Weekend as a leader.

My heart was beaming from the inside. Even though it was my third time already, the feelings are still the same.  That overwhelming happiness that you get to witness someone accepting Jesus as their Lord and Savior.

Victory Weekend is a two day retreat  wherein participants establish a strong spiritual foundation and  deepen their relationship with God. It happens after the One2One sessions and includes water baptism.

This time I have Jessa with me. I am excited about what God has in store for Jessa's life. Such an exciting season.

Save a Date: The Why, What, and Hows of Dating

For Valentine’s Day, I had a date!

I attended the Valentine’s Day talk at church with my Victory Group members. The name of the event was Save a Date: The Why, What, and Hows of Dating where we learned biblical principles and practical tips on dating.

I feel happy being in a church community that values relationships. That night I got to know other church goers as well, we laughed and learned together. It was my first time to attend the event and will not be the last time for sure.

Big Bad Wolf Books 2020

For the second time in a row, I went to the Big Bad Wolf Books fair.

Big Bad Wolf Books is a Malaysian book fair frequently held in Southeast Asia nations - Thailand, Myanmar, Indonesia, Sri Lanka and the Philippines. The book fair sells all kinds of books genres from fiction, non-fiction, children's literature to young adult. It’s open for 24 hours and guarantees discounted books for 60%-90%.

I shared everything about my Big Bad Wolf Books experience and the books I bought in this post

Surely had a great time shopping for books and will come back year after year after year!

Discipleship 2020

This is my second time to attend the discipleship conference.

For Discipleship 2020, the theme is Empower wherein current and upcoming Victory Group leaders gathered for a time of praise and worship and to hear words of encouragement as we do the ministry.

Victory founding Pastor Steve Murrell talked about the right time to empower someone to do the life long mission of discipleship. He mentioned that it needs to be immediate because to make good disciples, they need to practice sharing the Word to others.

After that Victory Makati’s very own Pastor Dennis Isleta also gave encouraging speech right after.

Just like last year, Discipleship 2020 was held simultaneously in separate Victory churches with Pastor’s Steve preaching also simultaneously shown throughout the centers in Metro Manila.

What made this year different was aside from being an attendee, I also volunteered as part of Comms Ministry. It was my first time to volunteer for an actual event. I, alongside with Ms. Kyle, was in charge of the Instagram Page of Victory Makati.

I am genuinely grateful to be used by God, sharing my creativity that day.

Yoke Cafe

My leader, Mau, now owns a cafe in Manila called Yoke Cafe. One weekend, we invaded her cafe as a group and it was A-MAZ-ING.

We had milk tea, french fries, onion rings, waffles and laughters! I feel so proud seeing Mau doing what she loves doing. Also happy for a different bonding we did as a group. If you are near the area, definitely visit Yoke Cafe.

February 2020 Favorites

Beauty - My skin is still suffering and went downhill for the last two weeks of February. It turned out my skin got burned from the product I took and it went on red patches all the way. Thankfully, I visited the derma and was recommended to use an even gentler set of skincare regimen.

I stopped using what I was previously using and reintroduced a simple cleanse, tone and moisturize one. I’m currently using the following:

For cleanser, Hortaleza M.D. Acnesol Facial Soap
For toner, Himalaya Herbals Refreshing & Clarifying Toner
For moisturizer, Celeteque Hydration Moisturizer

I stopped using the Cetaphil Gentle Cleanser  because it didn’t do anything on my face. Of course, I am still in love and thankful for my heavy-duty L’oreal Infallible Concealer for being reliable at times when I needed to put some makeup on.

Movie or Show - For February, I just continued watching more episodes of How I Met Your Mother. I’m currently in Season 7 and I can’t wait to finish the whole series. After this, I will transition to Big Bang Theory which I left at Season 3.

Song - For song of the month I’ve been playing Shallow and Always Remember Us This Way as my on-repeat.

Looking Forward Next Month

My Kuya and Lyron’s Birthday

My brother and his son Lyron will be celebrating their birthdays in Cavite. We will surely come as a family to celebrate.

That’s it for February 2020.

How's you February 2020?
