If you’ve read my blog post on Pinay’s Guide on a Perfect Skincare Routine, you’ll learn that I recommend the classic Cleanse, Tone and Moisturize especially on the face area. I am a believer of a great skincare routine but I admit that I will have those lazy days when I wish that my face will just clean itself without bothering me. On my visit to Watson’s I notice the new packaging of Maxipeel products.
I’ve known Maxipeel from my younger years. I actually have mixed first impression on the brand because I knew most of their astringent are too harsh to use and will cause sudden peeling. My Mom won’t allow me to patronize the brand dahil baka daw masunog yung mukha ko.
So it was my first time since forever to buy a product in Maxipeel and I was encouraged by the saleslady at that time. Also I am trying to find for new products that I can review in this blog and this just interest me a lot.
PRODUCT INFORMATION:
Maxipeel Fresh and Natural Skin Purifier has micropurifiers that move beyond the surface, down through unwanted contaminants, leaving your skin purified, healthy and happy.
IMPORTANT REMINDERS:
- Emergence of embedded whiteheads, blackheads and pimples may be experienced as part of the purifying process. It is highly advised to use the product solely with moisturizer.
- The product contains an alpha hydroxil(AHA) that may cause your skin’s sensitivity to the sun and particularly the possibility of sunburn. Limit sun exposure while using the product. Not to be used by children below 3 years of age.
The Maxipeel Fresh and Natural Skin Purifier sells at 79pesos for 50ml and widely available in all specialty beauty stores like SM Department Stores and Watsons.
MY EXPERIENCE:
I never used an skin purifier before so it sounds too foreign for me at first. I was actually afraid to incorporate this product in my skincare routine for again based on my past knowledge, Maxipeel have a tendency to be harsh.
I use the product on mornings after I clean my face. This serves as my toner in the morning and I let the product stay for a good 10-20 seconds before putting a moisturizer with SPF 15 or SPF 30. Currently I am using Olay Day Moisturizer with SPF 15.
With a cotton pad I put a nice amount of the Maxipeel Skin Purifier and work in a circular motion. It doesn’t have the strong scent and appears as a clear water with a bit of green color.
Product Effect
- I notice the cooling sensation that the product creates. At some point it lingers and tickles you then it subsides.
- The product is great for you can actually feel that it is working on the skin. I feel like after application the makeup and dirt that wasn’t removed by the makeup remover or face wash is totally removed by the skin purifier.
- Though I notice how I get pimples on my chin area and forehead area whenever I use the product. I guess that the important note as said in the packaging that you will have pimples, blackheads and whiteheads as part of the purifying process. The pimples will then disappearing after a day or two.
- The whole two weeks that I used the product I noticed the improvement whenever I apply my base/foundation or BB Cream. The surface is smooth and well-hydrated even if I don’t use a moisturizer (though I recommend not skipping this part).
- Price is very reasonable
- You can feel that the product is working
- I love the packaging for it looks fresh and vibrant
- This will last you for a good 2-3 weeks depending on frequency of use
- The product is not that harsh and can be used as a regular toner/cleanser
- A great cleanser.
- The emergence of pimple/s as part of the purifying process
- The need of an SPF product for sun protection
Yes. I love this as part of my cleansing process. I am glad that it can remove all unwanted dirt and makeup residues on the face area quickly.
Additional Tips:
It is best to use a cotton pad for the product and apply via circular motion. You can use the product both day and night but I suggest using a higher moisturizing cream/night cream at the end of the day.
