Shawill Stay Flawless 15-Hour Primer Review

Months ago I blogged about the new makeup I found in Shawill's store. Click HERE. Since then I failed to deliver reviews of the items to you guys. Then about two weeks ago I was browsing on my vanity and saw this Shawill Stay Flawless 15-Hour Primer. I was surprised that I haven't even unboxed this item. I decided to use this product and test it for the purpose of finally review it to you. Fortunately my Quick FX Makeup Primer is almost emptied and this gave me more reason to use this product.

My Experience

The packaging is what I first noticed about this product. The packaging of the Shawill Stay Flawless 15-Hour Primer looks like Benefits Stay Flawless 15-Hour Primer. Even the statistics at the packaging is the same! I saw in the Benefit Cosmetics website that 97% also said that it helps foundation last longer and 94% also saw an improvement in the look of skin/complexion.

I don't know whether this is an inspiration or imitation but I will still continue to give you insights on what I feel for this product.

I've talked about the basics of a primer and even reviewed a cheap alternative/dupe for Maybelline Baby Skin Poreless Primer. I am seriously still new when it comes to primers and have only collected a few so my basis for this review is pure personal experience.

Shawill Stay Flawless 15-Hour Primer is a primer stick base, meaning it in not a silicone-based primer like the last one I reviewed to you. Being a stick base, this product has way heavier feel on the skin when applied and may dry quickly too. This doesn't give you that gel-like second skin feel so if you are into that then this product is not for you.

It says that this product has mineral clay and it made me excited to try it out. Mineral clay found on clay masks or clay-infused facial wash are good for oily or acne-prone skin.   It also promises eight benefits in one product and for its price it is kind of surprising.

Anyhow, the feel of this product when rubbed is like a concealer. I highly compare its consistency and its feel to my Naturactor. I use my bare fingers to apply the product as it warms/melts the primer naturally rather than use a brush or wet sponge that can cake it up.

Tip #1: A great tip is to have a well-moisturized skin before applying the Shawill Stay Flawless 15-Hour.

Tip #2: Apply tiny stroke on the main points of the face like forehead, T-Zone and chin area.

With this product just a tiny stroke will do the trick. Blend patiently. You can also use the product as is and continue with the powder but for added coverage you can start applying your BB Cream, CC Cream or foundation right away. There is no fragrance at all which is considered a plus factor for those who have sensitive sense of smell.
Upon Application
I don't think that this product will work with people who have dry skin since it is cream-based. This is ideal for those who have oily skin and accumulate tons of oil because of our current weather. The feeling of this primer is a slightly sticky but not bothering at all. The tackiness is what make the foundation adhere to the face better.

It fills the little lines, hides my pores, cover my imperfections and make my face a much better and smoother canvas in preparation to my foundation routine. It also gives an instant whiter skin tone which I love.
When Blended

For the clearer and healthy-looking skin I am in a 50:50 state because I notice I accumulated some tiny blemishes on my forehead (don't know whether this is the trigger or the new soap I am using) and since it is cream-based, it feels like I have doubled my foundation making my skin harder to breathe.

Tip #3: You can use this product as an eye primer too! Your eyeshadow will look more pigmented and will last longer.

If you want to know whether my foundation last longer I can pretty and awesomely say YES! However, not the 15-Hour promise. Based on my experience I need to have some simple touch ups once lunch time arrives. (I applied before work 6am).

Before and After Application
Before Applying Shawill Stay Flawless 15-Hour Primer

I apply the product directly on the high points of my face. Forehead, cheekbone, chin, t-zone.
As you can see, the primer has minimal coverage when used alone.
Set the primer with a powder foundation to achieve a better look

What I Love?

  • The Price!
  • Hides redness and imperfections
  • Reduces pores
  • Gives instant whiter skin
  • Cute packaging
  • Comes in three shades (1, 2 and 3)
  • No need to wait before applying foundation
  • Has decent shine control
  • Makes my foundation last longer
What I Don't Love

  • Seems like an imitation of Benefit's Stay Flawless 15-Hour Primer
  • Has misspelled words and misuse of punctuation marks in the packaging
  • Feel sticky (but again not that bothering)
  • Feel heavier than the usual silicone-based primers
  • Not available in some Shawill makeup stores
Overall

This product is not much of a to-buy or must-have item. I still like the Quick FX Makeup Primer since it acts as a second-skin and doesn't give me a heavier feeling on my face. However, this product is still worth the try and I bet your 99pesos is bearable. I have used Shawill products for the past years that I have blogged and this is the least on my favorites for the said makeup line.
