Current Skincare Routine 2021

Hi all! Today I will be sharing my current skincare routine for 2021.

The last skincare routine post I did was July last year. I’m currently using different products all together and I’m excited to share them with you because I think the current items I use really helped heal my skin.

I’ve been very vocal about how my skin flare up last year. I suffered textured skin and pustules throughout 2020. Now, I feel like my skin has been really well.

I went to Festival Mall almost two weeks ago and dropped by at Watsons to buy some new skincare products.

Watsons has been my top go to place when it comes to vanity and personal care necessities. Even though it’s way safer to buy online, I still choose to visit Watsons instead and go through every aisle to find what I need or want.

My skincare regimen needs an update and I made a budget of Php 1000 to try out something new from Watsons.

Let’s begin.

Step 1. Cleanse

Luxe Organix AHA BHA Miracle Solutions Cleanser

I am still using my Luxe Organix AHA BHA Miracle Solutions Cleanser. I’ve been using this as my everyday cleanser since October last year and it’s such an amazing product for those who suffer from acne and textured skin.

AHA and BHA are common ingredients to the top exfoliants available in the market. AHA stands for Alpha Hydroxy Acid which breaks down the invisible “glue” that bonds our skin cells together. AHAs also help treat other skin concerns like acne marks, pigmentation, and uneven skin texture.

Beta Hydroxy Acid (BHA) are meant for people with oily skin. It is an effective ingredient that effectively treats blackheads and whiteheads, leaving the skin clearer. It has anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties which help calm any redness.

Step 2. Toner
Celeteque DemoScience Hydration Alcohol-free Toner

For toner, I’ve been using the Celeteque DemoScience Hydration Alcohol-free Toner. I’ve been looking for a toner that’s alcohol-free and gentle in the skin and this product just suits what I need. The hydration line of Celeteque has been a favorite of mine especially the moisturizer which quickly became part of my skincare holy grail.

Anyway, back to the toner.

What I love next about this toner is it’s budget friendly. The 125ml only costs Php 129.75 and I’ve been using it for the past two weeks and I still have a lot left.

I love that it’s a watery toner that I can use day and night. It is also infused with Witch Hazel Extract which is known to help those who suffer acne problems.

Step 3. Serum
Luxe Organix Miracle Repair Serum

For serum, I’ve been using the Luxe Organix Miracle Repair Serum. I emptied The Ordinary Niacinamide Serum and wanted a replacement I can easily buy anywhere. I found out Luxe Organix released a serum that resembles The Ordinary and I knew I wanted to get my hands on the product.

The Luxe Organix Miracle Repair Serum contains 4% Niacinamide, Vitamin E and Licorice Extract. It is meant to help fade dark spots and pigmentation caused by acne while increasing collagen production which then helps improve the skin’s barrier. I’ve been very vocal how my skin changed in 2020 and I knew that I needed to invest in products that can help heal my skin.

I love how the Luxe Organix Miracle Repair Serum resembles The Ordinary Niacinamide Serum and so far it’s been doing good.

Step 4. Moisturizer
Luxe Organix Soothing Gel

A week before my visit to Watsons, I got tiny bumps on my forehead. I used to have these tiny bumps before and only resolved it using Aloe Vera Gel from Mumuso. Because the bumps have been bugging me, I decided to buy aloe vera gel again and retry if it can help with the bumps.

My budget was tight so I just bought the travel size version of the product instead of the tub. True enough after just a week of continuous use day and night as moisturizer, the Luxe Organix Soothing Gel really helped disappear the texture on my forehead. I am still using the product now as my everyday moisturizer.

Step 5. Sunscreen
GT Brightening C+ Daily Sun Care SPF 70

Part of the life changing habits you need to try this 2021 is wearing sunscreen.

Sunscreen is the most important beauty kit that one could ever have. It helps keep UVA and UVB from damaging the skin. Overexposure to sun also causes sunburn, faster aging of the skin and even skin cancer and the only prevention is the use of a trust-worthy sunscreen.

One of the best sunscreen I tried is GT Brightening C+ Daily Sun Care. I stumbled upon this product on a random visit to Watsons years ago and it quickly became part of my daily routine. What I love the most about this sunscreen is that it is tinted. When I use the product it helps make my skin feel powdery and less oily. Lastly it doesn’t give me a white cast.

If you are looking for a sunscreen this is something I highly recommend.

That’s it for my current skincare routine.
