It's time to recap what happened for the month of January 2021 with side stories here and there plus things to look forward to in the coming months.
Wow! Can’t believe we are really moving on to the second month of 2021. Where did January even go?
Anyway, January for me has been a very slow and lazy month. I found it hard to transition from the holiday period to going back to work. I also had a week where I felt really sick all I wanted to do was sleep.
You may have seen how I wasn’t blogging that much but I promise February will be better. I finally got myself out of a rut over the past weeks.
New Year’s Day Gala
If you’re a long time reader of the blog you’ll know that we have a tradition in the family to go out on the first day of the new year. I think it started in 2016 and continued to be a family tradition I look forward to.
This year though proved to be different. Because COVID-19 is still very much present even though we are into a new year, we can’t just go out as freely unlike before. We also consider that we have our senior parents, a pregnant sister, and my nephew who’s under the age allowed to be in the malls.
And so the tradition didn’t pursue this year as a complete family. We did it on the following day, January 2 but only a quick stroll in UP Diliman Sunken Garden and dinner at Sbarro UP Town Center. As simple as it was, I did enjoy the time spent with my parents and two other siblings.
Joey’s Birthday and Despedida
One of my closest friends at work, Joey, rendered her last day at work.
To celebrate her resignation which happened to be on her birthday, we spent an afternoon together with another close friend and workmate of ours. We had a fun lunch and snack together.
Joey has been my comfort over the years that I’ve been working and I’m soooo sad to let her go. But I understand that it wasn’t an easy decision for her as well. I also know that God has something big for her.
January 2021 Favorites
Beauty - My skincare routine remained unchanged for the month of January. I don’t really have that much product to talk about. But I went shopping at Watsons for some new skincare products which I’m soooo excited to try. I will be posting about them on a haul soon.

Movie or Show - For January 2021, I’ve been into Mr. Queen. It’s a drama about a guy who got into an accident and went back to the Joseon Era in the Queen’s body. It stars Kim Jung-hyun and Shin Hye-sun.
Right from the first episode I got hooked because it was such a hilarious drama to watch. It’s very far from the typical historical period drama I used to watch.
Song - I haven’t been listening to any new song lately.
Looking Forward Next Month
If there’s anything I am looking forward to for February, it’s just for it to be a better month.
