My Christian Bucket List

Today I will share to you my Christian bucket list. I enjoy creating lists such as my 30 before 30 or my 2019 Goals.

Lists help me gather my inner thoughts. There is a different joy whenever I come up with a list either a simple to-do for the day or a bucket list of some sort.

Bring my entire family to church

Currently, I am the only Christian in the family.

Although my family is very supportive in my new found relationship in Christ, I haven't had the opportunity to bring them to church entirely. I am praying and believing for open doors to invite them. I know I shouldn't be worried of rejection as even Jesus ministered to those whom He knew will reject Him in the end.

Go on a mission trip

Now my calling is really to pray and to give but the more I mature in the ministry, may God impress in my heart to go also and do missions across borders.

At Victory, we have short-term mission trips called 10 days. This can be a good avenue to fulfil this. But first, the direction should come from God and as of now, I have a heart for the nations but to go on missions, not yet.

Read and study the Bible entirely

I used to read the Bible one book at a time and one to two chapters a day. With the said schedule, I have gone through studying Mark, Luke, Romans, Acts, 1 Corinthians and 2 Corinthians.

But I changed my schedule to accommodate books from the Old Testament too.

Fortunately I found a good plan in the Bible App called Own It 365 One Story Plan. This plan takes you through the key stories in the Bible in one year.

The plan shows how the many stories of the Bible make up one interconnected story - God's story.  It calls for reading between one to three chapters of Scripture a day from three separate chapters (i.e. the main storyline and key cross references) six days a week.

I still use the S.O.A.P. Method in studying and so far I like it. What I do is read and study the main storyline (or the longer chapter) in a day and do the key cross references the next day.

I am hoping to finish through the entire Bible with this plan.

Visit the Holy Land

Holy Land is more than just a place. It is where Jesus walked during His earthly ministry. I would want to one day see Jerusalem, the Sea of Galilee, and other key places mentioned in the Bible.

Speak my testimony in public

Our story, our testimony can be used to lead others to God. Part of my Christian bucket list is to share mine in public. If there is an opportunity along the way to share how my life before Christ, meeting Christ and in Christ to a crowd, then why not?

I am personally amazed rethinking of who I was before. How broken, insecure, misunderstood and entitled I was.

I am far from perfect but, there’s definitely a huge change. And I am excited to the person that I will be in the days, weeks, months and years to come.

Volunteer in a nonprofit organization

I used to volunteer for class projects but never now that I am already working. This is something that I want to do very soon specifically volunteering for a nonprofit organizations where I may be able to share my blessings to others.

Memorize at least 100 Bible verses

Each scripture is powerful. Not only can they be used in prayers and encouragements but they can ultimately be used to minister to others. They can also prevent you to act against the will of God. It even says in Psalm 119:11 NIV, I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you.

When I have the chance to talk to someone either for a friendly bonding or advice, I enjoy referencing the Words in the Bible. Memorizing a hundred verses may sound too few or too much for someone, but I see it as a good challenge.

Overall

I hope my Christian Bucket List inspires you to do one for yourself as well. To create our own bucket list empowers us on our journey towards Christlikeness. But of course, we need to value our relationship with God first and foremost. After all He is the ultimate source of everything and the one great provider. Without Him, there’s nothing in this list or any other list we can do.
