Goodbye July, Hello August 2019

It's time to recap what happened for the month of July 2019 with side stories here and there plus things to look forward to in the coming months.

July was filled with, as always work-related deadlines and meetings. But don’t get me wrong. I’ve been enjoying every single day and every single part of my work. The workload may be too much but the satisfaction I feel with the value I give in the company is beyond any pay check. I feel fortunate to be in my current position and I have no plans to stop anytime soon.

As what I’ve been mentioning since February 2019, this is the happiest I’ve been in terms of my career.

But I am really aiming for a better work-life balance for the rest of the year. I am hoping not to go missing in action again in blogging and really draw the line between work and personal endeavours. So help me God :)

Anyway, enough of this long introduction. Let’s begin the monthly recap

Celebrating Mama and Ate Abi’s Double Birthday Celebration

This year my mother hit the big 6-0. Welcome to the senior citizen club, my dear mother! We had a celebration at Buffet 101 SM Mall of Asia as a family where we also included in the celebration my elder sister’s birthday. Their birthday is just three days apart.

Nothing feels more amazing than unlimited eat-all-you-can with the people you treasure and love the most. I definitely had a great time with my family.

Aside from my Mom and Ate’s birthday celebration, nothing much significant happened in the month of July.

July 2019 Favorites

Beauty - I have a couple of favorites for the month of July 2019. First and foremost, I am currently loving the effect of Kiehl's Freshly Juiced Vitamin C Serum. I will definitely share a review about this product soon. Now I understand why a lot of beauty vloggers have been raving about it since being out in the market.

I’ve also been using a new everyday blush, which is the EB Matte Color Stick in Doll Face. I swear this product works well for me. I now enjoy using cream blush instead of tint like the KJM Lip and Cheek Tint (which I’ve been obsessed for years). If you’ve seen or been wanting the Sunnies Face Airblush or the Happy Skin Easy Glam Multi Use Mousse Makeup but for a fraction of price, try this EB Matte Color Stick. The shade Doll Face is so good for morena skin. It gives you that natural blush.

Movie or Show - I watched a lot of good shows for July 2019. All I watched when I spent one weekend at my sister’s house

I finished Stranger Things Season 3, which is way better than Season 2 but nothing incomparable than Season 1. I think that’s how it is when it comes to series, nothing compared to the first season, ever.

Finally watched Kingdom, a 2019 South Korean series about a mysterious undead plague (zombie) that ruined a fictional Kingdom in South Korea. If you love World War Z and Moon Lovers Scarlet Heart Ryeo, this Netflix original series is for you.

When it comes to movies I have three crime thriller recommendations. First is The Invisible Guest, about a young businessman wakes up in a locked hotel room next to the body of his dead lover. He hires a prestigious lawyer to defend him, and over the course of one night, they work together to find out what happened.

Hush, about a deaf writer who retreated into the woods to live a solitary life must fight for her life in silence when a masked killer appears in her window. And Boy Missing, about a lawyer takes justice into her own hands after her kidnapped son is found traumatized, and police appear unable to arrest the man her son identifies as the kidnapper.

Song - I have great songs on repeat for July 2019.

Honesty by Pink Sweat$, StreetCar by Daniel Caesar and when the party’s over by Billie Eilish. Those three songs are just out-of-this-world awesome.

Looking Forward Next Month

August 2019 is filled with long weekends and I am excited to use the extra days off to blog. It’s also the birth month of my eldest sister and I’m excited for her celebration.

I am also invited to a blogger lunch, a first for 2019 which I will surely attend.

That’s it for this month’s monthly recap.

How’s July 2019 for you?
