Dear, Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin C Serum Review

Today I thought of sharing my thoughts on the Dear, Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin C Serum.

I’ve named this as part of my 2019 Best of Skincare and Makeup list but was not able to publish a full post review about it. At first, I thought serums are just a waste of money. An added step that could be skipped. But, now that I am almost through with this product, I realized that face serums do work well.

Face serums are lightweight moisturizers that penetrate deeper to deliver active ingredients into your skin. Regular use of serum will make your skin firmer, smoother texture, make pores appear smaller and increase moisture levels.

My Experience

I actually bought the Dear, Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin C Serum back when it was the talk of the town in the KBeauty scene. It has been well-reviewed in the beauty community with a number of claims on how effective it is when it comes to brightening the face.

Spending Php 1200 for a skincare product is not typical of me, but I really wanted to try and know what the hype is about so I still bought it.

PACKAGING. The Dear, Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin C Serum comes in a transparent glass bottle with dropper. The texts in the packaging are clear giving you the necessary information about the product before using it. It does look worthy of the Php 1200 price tag. The dropper lid makes dispensing the product easy and hygenic. It also makes it easier to control the amount of serum you will use.

UPON APPLICATION. When I first applied the Dear, Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin C Serum, I noticed the sting especially on the areas where I have blemishes. I also felt a mild and tolerable heat which made me scared at first. I had to convince myself that it’s the indication that the product is working. Haha. I later found out that others experience the same and not just me. The texture it gives when applied is oily so I don’t really use it in the morning.

HOW TO USE. After thorough cleansing and toning, apply about half a drop of the  Dear, Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin C Serum to the entire place. Gently massage the product on the skin to get absorbed.

Per Dear, Klairs, it is highly recommended to follow up with sunscreen when using during the day. Exfoliators that are AHA, BHA, etc. Infused products must also be avoided. You can also store the product in the fridge or any place away from direct sunlight.

HOW I USE IT. I apply the Dear, Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin C Serum after toner. What I do is take a few drops at the palm of my hand before patting on my face. As mentioned above, I only use it at night time and a little goes a long way.
EFFECTS.  After a couple of weeks of using this product, I did notice that my dark spots lighten and my skin brighten. The oily consistency of this serum is actually reminiscent of a facial oil. Whenever I use the product, I wake up to a fresh and bright skin. I see the improvement in the texture of my face.
The first time I used Kiehl’s Pure Vitamin C, it gave a bit of a burning sensation. But nothing serious though. I think it’s the product making itself felt.
I use this product a night by simply releasing a drop on each cheek and tapping the product all over the face. You can also use this as a spot treatment. This product definitely brightened up my face and after regular use, people started to ask me about my skincare routine because they noticed that my skin looked radiant.

What I Like?

  • Effective. I feel like I do get the value of money out of it.
  • It feels light on the face
  • Easily absorbed
  • Really great for lightening scars.

What I Don’t Like?

  • It stings upon use
