Goodbye April, Hello May 2019

It's time to recap what happened for the month of April 2019 with side stories here and there plus things to look forward to in the coming month.

April was actually a pretty good month. It was a month filled with learning as I attended not just one but two training in line with my work as Digital Marketing Associate. The weekend trip with my ex-colleagues from WiFun also pushed through and although we were only few, it still was an incredible memory for the month of April.

I also spent the Holy Week with the family at Viera Residences which was super fun. I never had that quality time spent not worrying about my to do list.

Can’t believe we are now on the fifth month of 2019.

Villa Jhoana Resort Angono with Friends

On top of my highlights for April was the sleepover with friends at Villa Jhoana Resort Angono. I super missed the whole team I had in WiFun. They are more of a family to me, not just officemates. When I’m with them I laugh so much.

No makeup, no brows - I woke up like this face :)

Holy Week with family at Viera Residences

With the long weekend, I was able to bond with my family. We had a so called staycation at my eldest sister’s condo. We did nothing but watch Netflix, eat and sleep.

What made it extra special was that I finally learned how to swim! We on the pool one afternoon when my nephew, who is only nine years old by the way, randomly shared to me how to swim. I got fascinated with how he moves underwater and tried it for myself only to realize that I’m actually able to swim! On a scale of 0 to 10 I can rate myself now to 4, which is a big leap from 0 overnight.

Content 360 at Dusit Thani

I attended my first ever conference as part of the Marketing Team and it was really amazing. Content 360 conference is designed for content creators, senior management, and marketing and communications leaders, from across Southeast Asia, to come together to discuss challenges and share insights on future content marketing trends and successful strategies.

I went alongside my boss which made it even more special.

Some learning from the event that are helpful too if you are a blogger are as follows:

  • Whatever campaign/content you publish make sure you are solving a problem. This is what gets you the traffic you need.

  • Video is the goldmine right now. This is where the money is.

  • Viral content will not get you that far. It’s all about content that stings or lingers. It needs to be felt by the audience.

  • Marketing is marketing regardless of industry.

  • Basics of success when it comes to marketing - 1) Identify what your brand is, 2) Identify your resources, 3) Define where you want to go and 4) Know how your resources can take you from Point A to Point B.

  • Always ask about pain points and how you can solve them.

  • Know your consumer well enough. Follow their customer journey.

Blueprint for Success: Making Your Digital Marketing Plan Course at Ateneo CCE

I also attended a one-day crash course on making a digital marketing plan at Ateneo CCE Makati. The course provided a step by step guidance on creating buyer persona, knowing the customer journey and all the different tools you can use to make a digital marketing plan for your business.

We actually had an excellent speaker for the course, Mr. Albert Aragon. I enjoyed his teaching techniques so much from the way he explain the terms to the examples he provided.

April 2019 Favorites

Beauty - Currently, I’ve been loving Ever Bilena Matte Lipstick in Siennas. This is the only red lipstick that doesn’t make me look ugly.

Movie or Show - During my stay at Viera, we binge watch 7 Days Out on Netflix about the world’s biggest events and what happens behind the scene from day seven to day zero. Among the events shown for Season 1 were Westminster Dog Show, reopening of the No. 1 restaurant in the world, Eleven Madison Park, NASA’s Cassini Mission, Kentucky Derby, Chanel Haute Couture Fashion Show and the League of Legends Tournament. I enjoyed all of the episodes but Westminster Dog Show and Chanel Haute Couture Fashion Show were my favorites.

Song - I have some worship songs on repeat for April that I like to share to you. First is Great God by Victory Worship. This is the very song that makes me raise up my arms in praise. For my morning devotion time I enjoy listening to Forever Found also by Victory Worship. The song brings me to tears every single time.

Looking Forward Next Month

Money Summit & Wealth Expo 2019 at SM Aura

I am stoked to be attending my very first  Money Summit & Wealth Expo! I’ve always wanted to go but because of the price ticket I am not able to do so. Money Summit & Wealth Expo started in 2010. It is a wealth building conference where everyone are encouraged to join. Some of the top personal finance gurus come together and give a talk about the biggest topics on money and investing.

My attendance to the event is because of work though which means I will be manning our booth during the conference. The good thing is, I saved money for the entrance ticket so it is still a win-win.

That’s it.

How was your April 2019?
